Faculty Code of Conduct
Welcome to Type School!
This platform provides a dedicated space for you to learn and meet people based on type. Our mission is to maximize the understanding and usage of typology in the world, and we are committed to hosting a space where our actions align with our vision and purpose.
Remember, we are the first wave of pioneers in a brand new community, so our contributions will shape Type School’s culture. Let's work together to build a great community that we all will benefit from.
Our community guidelines apply to members and instructors alike, and the following additional code of conduct is specifically for instructors:
Instructors Core Principles
Stay out of the weeds and think big. Our goal as instructors is to get people passionate about the possibilities of applying type to our lives - we aim to bring out the best in people and open their minds.
Lead by example in all of your own posts and publications. Think back to your favourite school teacher, what qualities did they have? How would they have approached teaching this course? Aim to emulate these qualities in all of your actions and they will add up to your personal brand within Type School.
Remember everyone is on a journey - there will be ranges of students from high to low understanding. Practice patience and meet people where they’re at.
Do's and Do not's
Do
Prioritize member understanding and explain complex topics simply.
Keep posts in their relevant areas (e.g. don’t reference Socionics in the Jungian typology section, unless it pertains to the post at hand).
Look out for your other instructors - we’re all on the same team, if you see someone making a mistake, respond to it as you would like to be responded to in the same situation.
When disagreements occur, lead with curiosity and assume good intentions - We’re a community, and we look out for each other, even when we hold differing views.
Make people feel welcome and supported, so that Type is being used to grow and support people’s lives.
Expect imperfection - there will always be people with misunderstandings of type etc., we can improve this gradually over time, but it will never be perfect (especially not immediately).
Do not
Fuel the fires of conflict - if you do find yourself in a disagreement, keep it professional and think win-win.
Publicly disagree with another instructor (e.g. on methodology) - raise all concerns privately with the team and we will address them behind the scenes.
Breaches of our community guidelines will result in a written warning and/or removal from the platform.
